The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
